Overcrowding in Manhattan Schools on the Rise with 89 out of 199 Schools Facing Space Crunch

Manhattan schools are overcrowded - and it's only getting worse, a new report shows.

Severe space problems dog 43% of the borough's elementary and middle schools, a survey by Borough President Scott Stringer charges.

The analysis found a space crunch at 86 of the 199 schools and describes a chaotic planning process that often leaves parents feeling blindsided.
